Sorry, me again! Having reached W8R3 (much to my amazement), I have very frustratingly developed pain in the back of my thigh. My mum (a retired nurse) has diagnosed this as being in my rectus femorus & has advised rest. Argh! I’m also wondering if this has anything to do with the pain I’ve been experiencing in my knee (same leg) - it doesn’t hurt when running at all but really hurts when I’m walking, especially down hill or when being pulled by my dogs!
Does anyone have any advice on this & what to do? I really don’t want to stop running just as I’m about to start my final week, but nor do I want to make it worse.
Thanks in advance!

No disrespect to mum, but I would see a sports physio (their knowledge of anatomy, physiology and biomechanics is much greater than an RN, or even a GP) I also wouldn't run on it until I knew I wasn't causing further harm.
Referred pain and knock on effects of one injury can become very complex. We compensate for one discomfort or weakness and stress another part of our anatomy in the process, so your knee and thigh pain may well be linked.
Your mum is correct in prescribing rest, but if this is a persistent problem a careful analysis of the leg action and any possible asymmetry is recommended and you are only going to get that from a good sports physio.
