Chest infection vs running

I'd just finished week 1 when I've been floored by a chest infection. I'm wondering, once the anti biotics have worked their magic do I start again or go into week 2 hoping I've retained a little stamina?

It takes two weeks to start losing fitness... you should be fine to just carry on... just start the next run even more slow and steady than usual. Your symptoms will go before your body is done fighting the infection, so a little extra care is good next time out.

I tend to go by the 'every third day' rule. I realise this isn't scientific, or tested, but i tend to think if I don't do SOMETHING everything third day, I'll lose condition. Probably me being paranoid but it helps: I go out on day four if it kills me for fear of losing progress!

You lose very little condition in a couple of weeks, so get fully well and see what you can manage when you get back to it. No point rushing back.
