I'm up to week 7 in the program and I'm trying to build up my strength and tone my body. Is ok to lift weights etc and such on rest days when I just take an hour long walk. I tend to use pull down machines and curl machines and for arms and legs. Is this ok?

I am sure it is OK 'peanutbutter_' as long as you don't run on consecutive days that is the main thing. On my 'rest' days I do some yoga exercises/planks and go a ride on my bicycle or a 4-mile long walk, the same route that I do my running. I have a pair of kettlebells and exercise with them as well, also, I do press ups and sit ups to tone up as they say.

Any non impact cross training on rest days will be beneficial, as detailed in the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Weight training is good for this... especially upper body as that muscle can be diminished by running. Keep the walking up too... it’s all good.
You can also do it later on in the day you run, I think some folks do this to avoid having to run on sore muscles the day after weight training.
