Is it ok to gym on a rest day?

Did W3 R1 last night and enjoyed it. No aches or pains in legs today and feel like I want to exercise.

Would it be ok to go to the gym and get on the cross trainer, bike etc do you reckon ?

Or would a swim be a better idea ?

Yes you can do anything which doesn't have both your feet off the floor at the same time (i.e. little-to-no impact). The cross trainer is perfect.

Thanks so even though the legs will be doing a fair bit of movement on the cross trainer this is ok because there is no jarring action up the legs right ?

I'm not going to regret it tomorrow on W3 R2 am I?

Correct! I've been going to the gym on the cross-trainer in between my runs and felt no after affects. In fact, when I don't go, I feel more tired the next run!

If you read the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... it explains that non impact exercise on your rest days is beneficial.
