I’ve slacked off jogging the last couple of weeks, went for one a week Monday as I felt I needed it, but didn’t want to push it as had a huge (stupid!) bike ride on the Thursday. Today - a week & a bit later. I did my 1st park run. I started off at the back (hate public things like this) I had to walk twice, once because there’s a hill. Not as bad as I was expecting , but my mates had told me about it & how they had to stop & walk, 2nd time for 60secs as I got stitch. I didn’t have a printed barcode yet, but strava said 37 mins. That’s slow, but I was panicking before I started. I’m happy I did it. I just need to do it continuously now & regularly. But It’s the 1st I hit 5k since starting the app. So I now know, I can do the distance. Any advice on how to get faster.. I know it takes practice, but speedy i’ll Never be!

If you’ve graduated and can do 3 5k a week then try a 2/3k run faster, 5k and 5.5k slow for a week
Good job on the parkrun... 2 walks is no disgrace at all, and the time is very good first time out... now get that barcode!

I'd be happy with 5k in 37 mins ! Well done.
