63 year old female - never done any running but lots of walking.
I got to week 5 - hard work but managed it (with shin splints which gradually improved)
Had a break of 5 days and repeated w5r1 and got really bad headache. I've had mild exertion headaches before but this was a bad one with some nausea. So took painkillers, lots of water and rested for a couple of days. Tried again today and the headache started after 2 minutes o running so stopped this time to stop it getting any worse.
Very frustrating - any tips please.
Thanks

Maybe it’s over exertion if you’re getting a pounding head.
We do say go oh so slowly The only job is to complete each session so no hurry or anything.
I’ve experienced it but it’s usually on a hill when it’s tough going. I stop and let my breathing return to normal before jogging on
It would be a shame to stop at this point If you have no health issues I would try again Maybe you could get your BP checked etc if you’re worried 🙂. We’re not medics so can’t give expert answers 🙂
Thanks - might try a sports drink pre run - I do tend to sweat an awful lot so that could be it. I think today it came on so quickly because I still had a dull ache from Monday so it obviously hadn't properly resolved.
