Considering 10 weeks ago I'd never run very happy and with a 28:56 time doubly so!
Things I learnt ...
- don't be self-conscious. I thought the sight of a 54 year old in shorts would frighten little children. But there are lots more people running than you think.
- the C25K early stages are a good build up - and once you've done that 20 min run in week 5 - from then on it's just a matter of building. Leading up to that run I was nervous - but once done (and you can do it) you just build up time and distance.
- on the longer ones - don't start too quickly! Caught me out quite a lot.
I think it's a park run next ...
Doing this program over the summer was a good idea, Alas cold wet mornings in the park again won't match some of the runs in the Devon and Dorset countryside I did during the last few weeks.
