That was W5R1, and my first run with a cold. It's already chilly here in the morning, and I needed a headlamp for the first half – another first.
I still did ok with those three five-minute runs. The first one was really hard, mostly because my warm-up consists of walking up a steep road leading to the hiking paths. It takes me a bit more than five minutes so I usually start running with some of the hill left. Today, for some reason, I found it more difficult than usual. It took some determination not to stop once I'd reached the top !
I can't believe it's week 5 already and I'll be running for 20 minutes on Friday.

Well done! But do be careful about running with a cold ... go much slower than usual. Your body needs it's rest to help fight off the bugs. My nose runs whenever I run / walk, cold or not! Good luck ... and enjoy the journey x
Thank you ! Yes, I'd thought I'd run to try and clear my head, but boy was it hard Each step was an effort and my body ached all over for the rest of the day. I'll certainly be more careful next time !
Hope you're feeling better now? I recommend yoga on your non-running days to help keep your muscles strong and long. I'm a recent convert - using Travis Elliott's "Ultimate yogi" dvds. It"s improved my flexibility already, as well as being fun, challenging and relaxing in equal measure. Wish I'd started years ago!
