Skipping / Jump rope

This month I did a bit of cross training by skipping for 15 to 16 minutes doing about 1 100 skips during that time.

I did run one 5 k faster by 30 seconds at 29:13 ... I think the skipping is strengthening my core and upper body. I feel great ... over the course of the month I skipped about 24 000 skips! Has anyone used skipping to train for 5 k?

I know the skipping strengths core, I am terrible at it and I know my core needs. More work. You must have some good core Stregnth to be doing so well with skipping for such a good time.

(Hehe runs to dig out the skipping rope that she bought 3 months ago because she thought it was a good idea and has never used 😂😂😂😂)

I do jump rope ( minus the rope 😃) as part of my warm up Jump rope torches calories which is why it’s used by boxers i don’t do it for long, just alongside other moves for a mixed work out 💪🙂
