So its taken me a while to get here. I started C25K on the 21/08/16 and have covered 222 KMs. Between work, moving house twice and DIY i've found it hard to stick to my three runs a week. I'm now staring down the barrel of graduation and I feel a fantastic sense of pride.
I suffered from shin splints or so i thought but can say hand on heart I've never had them since I started the program or indeed even had a stitch. i put that down to the well constructed program the NHS put together. I've hated some runs and loved others, the first time I ran in the rain is now one of my happy place memories.
If you're thinking about starting C25k my advice is go for it, no matter how long it takes or how hard it is just keep going. it is worth it.
I completed W9R1 today and found it tough, I covered 6.27 KM including the walk with an avg pace of 6:16 again including the walking elements. I burned 635 calories and my heart rate topped out at 161.
I'd like to thank the community here, The NHS and Laura.
Its a great resource and unbelievably its free
Today I feel like a runner...
