Anyone started to see any weight loss on the program. If so which week do you start to see a difference?
Thanks

2 things - at the start your body will retain more water to help with muscle repair so you dont see much weight loss
Also - depends totally on your diet - if you eat healthy you will see some weight loss when you get into the longer runs
What you will see is improved body shape - even if the scales stubbornly don't move you'll lose the inches.😊
I started this primarily for weight loss. I read 2 useful things before I began:
1. You won’t lose much weight unless you change your diet as well as running.
2. Stay away from the scales. Do not weigh yourself very often.
So I changed my diet. I cut out all snacks (I love chocolate) and halved the size of meal portions. I didn’t weigh myself at all until I graduated. I also did a lot of exercise (walking) on rest days.
Result? 16kg lost over the 9 weeks of the programme. Now that's extreme, and I did have a lot to lose, but C25K provides a really good platform for weight loss. You just have to give it a bit of help.
Each run of C25K is going to burn about 200-300 calories. And so it is not the running that will help you lose weight. Starting C25K is a signal that you care about your body, and this is normally coupled to starting to eat more healthily. I found that I could not run parkrun on a Saturday morning after a large curry and beer on a Friday evening, for example, and cut that out. I lost about 5kg in the year when I first started C25K, and most of the loss occurred when I was running 30 minutes three times per week. What you will notice, though, is becoming more toned and trim duirng the 9 week program, even if you don't actually lose any weight.
