Happy feelings.. excitement and the shaking and waking up of a body just waiting for this?:)

Was your previous sleepiness as a person a healthy happy sleepy feeling, or an exhausted one...?

If it is causing you problems maybe change your running time... an early run, does set you up wonderfully for the day...bight eyed and bushy tailed:)

Go you anyway:)

You are probably right! Before I started couch to 5k I had zero energy! I felt very old, weak and frankly quite negative about my health and the future. Now despite my back hurting a bit, I feel alive and capable and yes energetic! So it probably is a positive!

I’ve been known to lie awake all excited about my upcoming run in the morning. How on EARTH that’s happened I’ll never know! It happens fairly often too. Bonkers!!! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️😅😅

I’ve found similar, in fact, my Fitbit even said exercise shortly before bed can have a negative effect on sleep.

I wonder if this is the reason I've been wide awake since 3:30 am this morning (after falling asleep after midnight!) I tend to go running about 7pm... trouble is, it's the only time I can do unless I want to take a 3 year old with me (we've tried that, it didn't work 😂)

Maybe I'll have to get used to existing on 3 hours sleep 😬🏃💪😴

Might be worth trying a morning run if you can fit it in as maybe evening runs are leaving you wide awake?

Depends whether this is a good thing in your case or not and at the moment it sounds like it is a positive sign - so long as you can still get enough sleep.

There seems general agreement that vigorous exercise too close to bedtime can be unhelpful for sleep... although I have recently discovered that some individuals with sensory integration difficulties benefit from it because they can settle more easily afterwards (yes, an OT was recommending pillow fights!) All to do with knowing where your body is in space which most of us are fortunate to do without thinking about, but not everyone is.

Not what you're looking for?
