W5R3 - A few stats

Following on from last night's post, a few stats for you. (During the 20-minute run)

Pace was between 12.5mins and 13.25mins per mile. Covered 2.25 miles

Pulse rate at around 160 - W1R1 was at 185!! Resting rate has always been around 50 ever since I was younger

Stride rate has increased slightly to 165 paces per minute - I must be taking shorter strides

It'll be interesting to compare the above to W6R3 run next week which will be 25mins!!

Ooooo! Love a few stats! I always check mine out after every run. We could be running buddies as mine are similar for that run, around the 12.5 Mark and 2.42 miles.

This morning on w6r1 I managed 2.72 miles - that 4.3km!!! The 5 k is in sight!

That's very good. For me to reach that pace would take some doing :( I'll get there, eventually!

Ooh you do like your stats don’t you! Except I do mine in km.

Oh no, we’re incompatible unless one of us changes!!! 😜

Impressed with the low resting heart rate. That’s often a good sign. Mine used to be on the high side, 80s. And that’s resting! But it’s down to about 75 now on average. I don’t measure it during exercise but it doesn’t feel like it’s doing anything abnormal.

More than anything I’m impressed with my recovery rate. I did the park run on Saturday and, yes, it was very tough for me but I felt absolutely fine after about 40 seconds recovery which felt good.

Glad you’re doing so well and enjoying it too!! Double bonus! 👍🏼👍🏼

Hmmmm..... maybe I can "convert" to km, but then aren't opposites supposed to attract ;)

A good indication of improved fitness is a faster recovery rate, so clearly, you're getting fitter!

As for loving stats, it's one of the incentives that keep me going. Now that the weeks include longer runs, the figures will give a more in-depth meaning.

My pace is around 6kph. Eventually, I'd need 10kph to achieve 5k in 30mins. For now, I'm happy to just keep moving for 20 to 25 minutes, haha! W6R1 is this evening.

Whoaaah there! My pace is around 7.5 per km.

I’m officially the tortoise here.....🙈

I’m with the Oldfloss slow and steady brigade.

Good luck with W6R1. My nemesis I’m afraid...! 👍🏼

What app are you using to get those stats?

I've got a TomTom Sports 3 watch. The info is uploaded to the TomTom My Sports app and is also duplicated online using their website.

Cool cheers, I’ve got a Fitbit but haven’t set it when I’ve run as I wasn’t sure if the apps (Fitbit and couch) would run side by side, I’ll maybe set it on Friday (wk 6 run 3) and see, it doesn’t give you the step rate but should get the speed per km, it has given me the heart rate as it’s on all the time and I’ve noticed a great improvement there especially with recovery rate.

Thanks

I use Strava (free app) and links all your runs together so you can analyse stats and see your personal bests etc
