Dark nights looming

Hi all, how do we keep up the running once the dark nights set in? Im not a fan of running in the streets, prefer parks, but obviously thats not advisable in the dark. Will twice a week be enough? I can manage that on my days off?

Hi I have been wondering the same thing but at least the streets have lighting think I would feel a bit scared in the park

Good point, safety is key. To be honest, I'm also weary about the park when it's light, but early morning and not many people around. May try to find a running club. Would feel safe then

Twice a week would be just fine to maintain and progress. I’ll be putting work on hold during the day.

Embrace the streets 😂 Join a club. Do it at the gym 👌🏽

Run earlier.... dark, but not many folk out there...unless they are runners too :) I graduated the week before Christmas 2015...the dark mornings were magical :)

Well,, I started and just found it was something so amazing and it has become a significant part of me now. My running and my rambling give me a lot of joy!

The early morning runs were fine...I did many of the same routes, and saw very few folk... the weather was often quite challenging but each run was exciting and the week before Christmas was truly amazing... with the rainy darkness and the Christmas lights.. :)

This was my Graduation post..

Still here and on my way, hopefully to a Half Marathon :)

Thank you so much for taking the time to send me your graduation post. It was beautifully written and turned a negative (winter) into a positive. I hope I am still enjoying running 3 years down the line.

I've always been a gym goer, but in recent years I found myself getting a bit lazy and not putting enough effort into my training. Literally didn't break into a sweat during many workouts, and my duration was getting shorter.

I downloaded c2k5 approx 1 year before I set out on my first run and absolutely love it.

I'm off to work shortly, and have packed my running gear, will get changed and take a jog around the park when I finish, actually looking forward to it and hope it's still raining.

Have a lovely day and thanks for the inspiration 🤗x

I’m considering lunch time runs. I have the advantage of showers at work and a quietish business park to run around.
