Wk8 run3, how to improve technique

So I went out yesterday and did wk8 run3 after a 2week break. I was my usually slow and steady self. Almost gave up at the 8 min mark n walked for bout 30 sec then decided to cross the road which can bn seen the pic Once again I felt it was more of a power walk motion I was doing I don't seem to lift my feet far from the ground and I seem to have a short step. Does anyone know what I should do to improve my technique so I bring my feet up higher and therefore able to run more efficiently?

Just do what’s natural for you. You need to run efficiently, and that means doing no more than is necessary to make progress. Your legs, feet and shoes are heavy, so lifting them higher off the ground is only going to use more energy. I often notice in photos of me running that it looks like I'm walking. I'm not, and my pace is reasonable, I'm just not doing any more than I need to covering the ground. It sounds like you're doing fine. Keep on plodding and good luck!

Thanks for your reply. Your right it may look like I'm walking but im defo trying to run I manage my breathing ok so must b doing something right. I actually saw another runner last night when I was out with the kids and she seemed to keep her feet close to the group rather than being her feet up to her bum I'll stick with what feels right for me. Happy running and have a nice day. Xx
