Music to my ears!

Hello!

So I’m on Week 5 Run 2 and I’ve basically been listening to the same 30(ish) minutes of happy, upbeat, joyful music every run and I’m now a bit bored!

What do you listen to when running? All recommendations gratefully received! :)

South African songs, Japanese taiko drumming and two Strauss polkas. I put all 39 pieces on random, so it always feels different. Been using it since the start and am on week 8 right now.

Excellent choices, Denovo! I run in silence which suits me well.

Generally, I live and work in silence and never have background music on in the house. I only listen to music when I intend to do so in a conscious and mindful way, just like at a concert. However, when I did W1R1, I discovered that for some reason waiting for the voice prompts on the C25K app makes me feel quite anxious and more ready to give up. So I battled with technology and got music into my phone. It really does take my mind off those loooooonnnng waits and has transformed the C25K experience very much for the better :)

I believe you! I only have hearing in one ear and so do not enjoy the headphone experience as much as binaural consumers! But even thinking of the combination of taiko, South African choral singing and polkas gives me goosebumps!

I have downloaded a couple of running albums through Deezer. There's over 50 tracks on each. So no chance of getting board with hearing the same tracks over and over!

I’ve made my own running playlist on Spotify. Currently have 53 tunes on there. They have to motivate me, so real mix of classics and personal favourites. 😊

I am an Amazon Prime customer so I’ve been able to download loads of tracks for free to suit my running pace - stuff I’d not normally buy, like Taylor swift 🤣, Anything that matches the beat feels great. Sometimes I just mix up the order and the familiar tracks bring back good feelings if a run isn’t going so great. Hope that helps 👍

I have Apple Music subscription so just used my own playlists on shuffle. But I’ve been going with the music on my app recently.

I’m not sure what you use, but creating a large playlist and playing on shuffle could make the run much more enjoyable. ❤️

I have Spotify and have put all my favourite music onto an ever growing playlist that I have on shuffle. Couldn't run without it! 😎

I have downloaded a few playlists from Deezer.

I also listen to interesting Podcasts - mainly when I run on the treadmill and not distracted by outdoors stimulation. I take it as a real treat to listen to some interesting talk while running.
