This great photo says it all! And of course whatever does make you feel good, do lots and lots of it, again and again!! ๐๐พโโ๏ธ๐๐พโโ๏ธ๐๐พโโ๏ธ
Due to too much faffing (faffing is inevitable, but I had an extra dose๐), I have just got back from my run! I did contemplate a drive to one of the big parks for the benefit of shade, but getting in the car wasnโt so appealing either. So, I decide itโs time to go back to my little park close by. It was an oven on my last run there, so mentally, I decided that I would stop today if the heat was just too much and I would respect the elements and my body by not pushing too hard. The heat was very challenging indeed. After the warm up walk, I really thought Iโd have to give up pretty soon after I started, but my legs seemed to carry on, on auto-pilot (thank you legs!๐)!!
I had to divert to run under the trees to give me moments of shade along the route. I was so grateful for those trees. There was just not enough of them for the heat today ๐ฅ ๐ฅ ๐ฅ.
Iโm so pleased that I had the stamina to do it, but Iโm really not sure if this is the week to take on a Parkrun. ๐ฏ๐ฌ I think I might just go out much earlier on my own. But, Iโm also ruling nothing out! Iโll see how I feel when the day comes. After what is now 15 weeks of running, I still donโt always wake up saying yaaay time for a run, itโs still a challenge, but I still enjoy getting out there and most importantly Iโm having fun!
Happy running, Runners! โค๏ธ

Iโve now got to that point where Iโm really looking forward to each run. I donโt know how/when that happened but I think around the time regular 5ks felt comfortable.
If it's any consolation, not sure where you are, but our weather forecast for the southeast this morning said the weekend was going to be cooler - a chilly 22 degrees
Wow- well done for running in this heat. I found it warmer than usual at 7am so not sure I could have managed a couple of hours later. I keep thinking the running might seem easier in the Autumn when itโs cooler, but I think it may be wishful thinking ๐ค Not that Iโm wishing summer away of course ๐๐โโ๏ธ
Thanks Beanjo. I think it will be easier too! Itโs a challenge to go out there in this heat, but I do think it will stand me in good stead for cooler runs. I might just feel like a bionic woman (and not the slow motion one that a couple of the pensioners have performed on some of my previous runs! ๐คฃ๐คฃ)โค๏ธ
Well done for running in this heat. I'm hoping to get out tonigjt but won't be breaking any speed or distance records. If you decide to Park Run good luck!! If not, I dont blame you!! ๐๐๐
Thanks Ang! I just figure thereโll be more Parkruns. I donโt want it to feel like torture. Itโs definetly would be my longest ever run, so it doesnโt really stack up as sensible yet really. โค๏ธ
Wow! Thatโs amazing to run in this heat! Well done ๐ฅ โ๏ธ๐ and just seen your previous post in shorts .. looking fabulous ๐๐ we are going to cool down tomorrow to 28 degrees in Berkshire ๐ ๐ ๐ so might find some shade to run in ๐ฌ
Hi Bridget! It kind of just happened! I took too long to wake up fully really. But the travelling does get a bit tiring. So, Iโm going to rest tomorrow and just gauge it for Saturday. โค๏ธ
Thanks Ouching! I know Jay66UK is a star!! ๐ I know he wonโt see it that way, but I think heโs so inspirational and encouraging too! I love that we are always routing for each other! Thatโs pretty awesome!
If the weather is suitably cooler, Iโll probably give a go on Saturday. But if it looks like itโs going to be a big challenge for me, Iโll just carry on as I am for now! Iโm registered for a Charity 5k in September and hope to be able to run all the way by then. โค๏ธ
Well done for keeping going. That's the main thing in this weather. I was chatting with a friend who has done over 100 park runs and she said that she really suffers if she takes a couple of weeks off running. So I think getting out there and doing your best, slow and steady is what counts without getting hung up on distance or speed targets.
I'm surprised you don't wake up looking forward to your runs โ I can't wait to do my next one and would run every day if I didn't know that's not recommended.
Nope, I didnโt this morning Flyingred! Not disliking the idea though, just feeling tired. It still feels good Flyingred, so no danger of losing the desire to run! ๐๐๐๐พโโ๏ธ๐๐พโโ๏ธโค๏ธ
Well done for running in the heat! That must have taken some doing. Looking at the temperatures you have down there makes me appreciate that is it not as hot up here. Still warm though.
Don't blame you for seeing what you feel like doing on Saturday - though it is supposed to be a little cooler.
Thanks Eiralas! Yes, Iโm definitely going to be seeing how it goes. Iโm in no hurry and I really do just enjoy doing what I can do for now! Itโs a self made programme now, but as long as Iโm doing it, Iโll be a very happy lady indeed! ๐๐โค๏ธ
Well done Fabulous for getting out there, despite this heat, it is such an added challenge at the moment. It's not as if us new runners have enough to deal with at the moment! The forecast may be a bit more favourable this weekend, so you may get to do your park run after all, although it could be a damp one!
If you decide to do it...wishing you all the best of luck for tomorrow. ๐
Aah thank you Little-runner! Iโm sure thereโs going to be plenty of new running experiences to come, so Iโm just going with the flow and will do what feels like itโs going to be fun now!! So nice just to have a where and when to run โdilemmaโ! ๐คฃโค๏ธ.
Well done you!! The heat is definitely my biggest challenge at the moment........contemplating my running shoes at 5am when the thunder woke me up today!......hubby goes "get back into bed woman, its not even daytime yet!!"๐๐ ...............if I'm awake at that time tomorrow, and it's not thundering, I'm going for it, I've decided!!๐คฃ๐คฃ
๐๐๐! Thatโs the way Sonia!! I have been out at 5:30am myself, more than once! It seems a bit ๐คช to others but when youโre determined to move around the obstacles, you find a way!! Good for you too!! Enjoy! Itโs actually quite nice being out when itโs nice and quiet!! Lovely!! โค๏ธ
