Parkruns after graduating

I have seen a few posts about parkruns and people being nervous about doing them. I have done 2 now since graduating and found them really supportive no matter how slow you are (I was around 40 minutes for each one). I have decided not to get too hung up about time, as a few months ago I never would have dreamed I could run that amount of time without stopping. Enjoy your running everyone and remember, we are all lapping the people still on the couch!

Absolutely agree Tina! At Parkrun you do what you need to do and there is no pressure except that which you put on yourself :) I walked the first one start to finish at the end of Week 2 and used them as my Run 3 each week - following the app and walking the first 5, then walking/jogging until at the finish. It's a super atmosphere - can't believe how lucky I am to have found running when these events are every Saturday!

Yes I’m with you on that. I did two towards the end of my C25k, in both cases running the requisite number of minutes and walking most of the rest (but inevitably breaking into a jog again as I got within sight of the finish!) Going again on Saturday and aiming to run the whole way this time as I’ve managed a couple of 5k runs since graduation. I’ve also volunteered to be tail walker at a future parkrun so I’ll be last to finish that day!
