Week 1 done

I’ve just completed my 3rd run of week 1 and found the forum - hi everyone! I’ve always struggled to motivate myself to do exercise & have always been ready with excuses. Number one excuse has been my slightly dodgy knee but I’ve decided to go ahead & try running as it fits well with my work pattern (was always late for aerobics classes!). I had 2 rest days between runs 2 and 3 to let it recover so am prepared that I might be a bit slower overall but determined to keep going!

I've a slightly dodgy knee too. I've been doing a few stretches to try and support it better. Take it easy and listen to you body - if you feel any niggles while running or after then take longer breaks. I invested in decent shoes in week 9 and it has really helped. As did Jay's suggestion of avoiding hills (until today's park run that is - oops!)

good luck and I hope you enjoy it!
