Just about to embark on Wk 8 - am 54 and so far am OK but am really slow - run Wk7, run 3 for the full 25 but 2.7k - that is slower than I can walk !!! - does the speed come - shoudl I pick up the pace and risk a fail - will the distance come once I am running longer - and last - is this because I am running up and down fells rather than on the flat ??????
Advice please
Thanks

Of course hills make a big difference to pace..........just travel to find a level route if you want to see the difference.
My advice is to run/jog as slow as you need to, defined by your ability to ungaspingly converse as you go, as described in the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... You cannot fail at this programme, unless you retire permanently to the couch.
Speed will come with strength and stamina, so no need to worry about it now, but when you do want to work on speed you will have to push yourself, but only for about 20% of your running time.
You’re doing brilliantly! I’m still slow but I’m still running and so are you. Keep it slow for the rest of your runs and with all that running up hills imagine how fast you ‘ll be on the flat! 😎
Run slowwwwwwwly. Slow is just great for this job. It’s the way to go
How on earth do you expect to go fast 🤷♀️ You have to build fitness, which takes time. Enjoy the process and you will speed up as you get fitter and stronger. Going slowly buys you time and keeps your breathing regular If your breathing becomes ragged it’s time to slow it down even more
Rome wasn’t built in a day, neither were running legs 💪👍😃. Have fun !
