I went out this morning to do my first wk9 run and it’s the first one that I had to stop. My legs were so heavy and everything ached. I managed 10 min run and walked the rest of the 4 k. Bitterly disappointed in myself. Keep thinking my Sunday run at race for life took it out of me due to the 32 degree heat. Shall I try tomorrow again????
Legs of lead 😢: I went out this morning to do... - Couch to 5K
Legs of lead 😢
Have a day off then have another go at it 😊 you can do it just keep trying 😊
Dont beat yourself up. These things happen. Don’t try again tomorrow. Give yourself a clear rest day.
It is almost certainly a hydration issue and made worse by the heat. And you are still recovering from that race for life.
Drink well the next couple of days and be gentle with yourself when you run - take it slowly, forget distance just focus on completion.
Sorry to hear you’re disappointed OKES but don’t worry. I made the mistake of pushing too hard on W6R3 and even though I’ve managed OK it has taken a few weeks out of me and I’m only now feeling back to where I was - ish! I would chalk it up to experience and learn what you can. Someone more qualified than I am will be able to advise about tomorrow. If it was me I’d be tempted but just the ‘old girl shuffle’ pace - slower than walking! But that’s me.
Yes I agree with others above, even after a ‘practice run’ the rest day is still important, maybe more so. So far I’ve only had one ‘practice run’ and I felt horrible after it. But two days later I was fine, did my run and I’m one run from graduation now.
Did I read it right that you did this run on Monday having done Race for Life on Sunday? If so that could very well be a factor. No lasting harm done though, it feels rubbish but you can learn from it and you’ll be fine after a rest.
Don’t be so hard on yourself you are doing amazing! Of course race for life will be a factor just have a rest day and go again bet you will smash it👊🏻you have reached week 9 give yourself a break and a pat on the back 👍x
I’ll get there - it’s tomorrow or Thursday!!
