Hi, I have got one more run in week three to complete. I know itโ€™s still early days, but I am still really struggling. I am using my treadmill as I can only do it in the evening when my four children are in bed. I am 33, 5ft 2in and four stone over weight. I work full time with children with autism so I am on the go all day. I am eating really strictly...as healthy as possible really and I drink three litres of water a day. My question is when does it get easier??

I do each run because I want to, but I really donโ€™t enjoy it.

Hello, I am in a similar position to you, just a few weeks on. I am still wondering when I will enjoy the run! Lol. I just get my enjoyment of running from when I finish and feel the sense of achievement and the weight loss! I keep thinking maybe I will start enjoying it but it hasn't happened yet but I am addicted to the side effects. It took awhile for the weight loss to kick in too but you will get there. Good luck with it, sounds like you have a very demanding life and now you are managing to fit in something for you that is going to make you feel great........ P.s. I hope you do start to enjoy your runs.... just because I don't especially doesn't mean you won't xx

Thank you Cheryl I really hope so too. The same to you, I really hope it gets better for us both.

I lost 5lb initially but have stayed the same since. I very much like the feeling after the run too... I just donโ€™t enjoy the actual running part haha.

3 litres of water a day seems quite lot to me..but I'm not a health professional...I think you are doing well..it's not easy when you have a lot of other demands to meet. I did read that you should ordinarily be able to walk 30 minutes at a good pace before starting the couch to 5k.

Two things that help me..I'm on a treadmill in garage..are my music play lists and having a fan going to cool me down..I was really struggling before I bought the fan as you don't get the benefit of a cooling breeze indoors ..

The best advice in my opinion is don't think about the speed of distance..just the time ...keep at it..I have got further than I ever thought..I'm not finding it easy ..being a 57 year old who did no proper exercise for 20 years...but keep plodding ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ..every minute moving is progress..

Thank you for the advice, I really appreciate it. I will keep going and hope it will get better. I have a 1.5litre bottle that I drink at work and then refill it for the rest of the day at home. I havenโ€™t be drinking anything else other than water. ๐Ÿ˜

The fan is a good idea as I am in my conservatory (gets a tad warm in there haha).

Thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š

Best thing to make sure you drink right is getting a hydrate mate bottle, I work in an A+E department and once I started using it I realised how dehydrated I was! It has the timings on the bottles to make sure you donโ€™t over drink at once!

Thatโ€™s amazing, thank you. I will look into it. I find now if I donโ€™t drink the 3litres I become really thirsty. My body had become reliant on it almost. ๐Ÿ˜

Hi Danni. I work with kids on the spectrum too :) Two quotes you may find helpful: neither is mine, I read them on here but canโ€™t remember who said them. One is โ€˜itโ€™s not that it gets easier, itโ€™s that you get stronger.โ€™ And the other is โ€˜Iโ€™ve done some runs that I regretted starting at the time but Ive never ever done a run that I regretted after I finished.โ€™
