Following my previous post about a week ago about the mental struggle to get W5R2 done, I’m pleased to say I clocked it up on Wed @10kmp pace. I did try slower as others suggested, but my calf muscles struggled with that. It’s a phenomenon I’ll try to understand at some point (same as when I walk very fast I end up with shin splints).
‘k, I’m not holding much hope esp as it took me 3 goes to finally do the W5R2 (had fuel left in the tank, it really was more of a mental block).
Though this will take me a while too, I want to see how I get on.
I know but it’s on a treadmill and I really struggle with slow on it. I did try.
It’s 9pm so I will do treadmill (rapists and murderers probably started gathering around the local bushes waiting for me to run past 😂 - that’s how my mind thinks).
I’ve just done it but stopped at 12 (toilet), then ran 5 & head gremlins told me to stop & now finished the last 3 & can definitely make out that cucumber and radish that I had earlier nestling in my oesophagus ...
I’m back. I didn’t expect much but I did have high hopes in my mental ability.
Did 12m @10kph & stopped (could have pushed another 2-3 but I think I’m getting lazy in my old age), needed WC. Went back and did 5min at the same pace. Stopped, then last 3.
Could’ve I done the whole thing? No. But I could’ve pushed myself to do it in 15-5 (that’s the best atm).
I’ll try again on Monday, my main aim is to be able to do it by the end of the week feeling comfortable.
It’s really surprising how quickly it’s gone from running 3min and being comfortable to doing 8min and feeling easy.
