Where are you on the plan... off road running is great, but you need to take care... keep it slow and steady:)

Running on grass is great! It is more forgiving than tarmac: easier on your knees.

But the downside of running on grass is that it is not flat. When your foot lands it can be at different angles. Your ankles and calves have much more work to do in stabilising your body in grass, and this is giving your soleus and calf muscles a right good workout.

No doubt you are right-handed and so the right-hand side of your body is strongest. So it’ll be your left ankle that feels the strain of the muscle workout.

Don’t worry too much as your leg will strengthen quite quickly.

If you want to do some exercises, you’ll find some to strengthen your ankles online.
