Started out this morning on 1st run. Carrying a bit of weight so knees, ankles and feet took a bit of punishment but breathing ok. Used to run and enjoy it. Want to get back there again

Excellent! Good for you. Just take the runs nice & slow. If you still have problems with your ankles maybe look at getting your gait analysed and investing in good shoes? They’re an investment but, for me, an incentive too. There was no way I was going to give up after forking our for them! 😂

Congrats Sean! If your profile pic is your running shoes then I know you have no problem there - I bought the same type a few weeks ago.
I was in the same position as you when I started - overweight but used to run and enjoy it. Am now nearing the end of the program and have lost 10kg as a result of the program, gym and eating sensibly (no diet). I’m still overweight but it has made a huge difference.
I would recommend reading the pinned post for people new to the program posted by IannodaTruffe. There is a lot to take in but it is an excellent source of info.
The main advice: always go slow and always take at least one rest day between runs. If you plan for 3 runs a week you will always get a 2 day break somewhere and that is heaven!!
Good luck! 😁

Well done!
