Well - I did it and hand on heart I never ever thought I would. I went at a π pace but reckon speed will come after stamina. Felt so so proud of myself as struggled for 30 secs at the start of the programme.
I have always given myself a days rest between runs - is this absolutely necessary? Keen to get W6R1 in tomorrow as rest of week manic.

Sorry Mollymot, I am so happy to have completed my run today which was the final one of week 9 that I got a bit carried away thinking you also had completed week 9 not week 5, nevertheless, congratulations for finishing that run and yes you should also feel so proud of having completed that 20 minute run of week 5.
This is so encouraging to read. Iβm doing Wk5 R3 tonight. Iβve downloaded a playlist, to keep my mind occupied. Iβm feeling slightly apprehensive/nervous.
The key for me was to go slow - first 6 mins or so were the toughest and then somehow I got distracted and just kept running. As Laura kept telling me if you want to stop and walk donβt - just slow down your pace. That really helped me keep going. I reckon speed will come later. A good play list is def the answer and make sure you have no bills to encounter! Good luck - let me know how you get on x
Iβve just completed it now! Iβm so happy, thanks so much for the encouragementπ It wasnβt as bad as I expected it to be. I had my music on, took it nice and steady and kept positive (and avoided the hills). Thanks again.ππ
Well done Mollymot, I did w5r3 last Wednesday and found it tough but the psychological barrier was greater than the physical. I've been ill since then and I'm missing the running. Hopefully i'll get back in the trainers soon. Good luck with w6r1.
I gave myself today off - Iβve always had a rest day so decided a risk wasnβt worth it!
Congratulations- itβs a fantastic achievement. That lovely realisation of suddenly you can jog for 3,5,8,10 and then 20 minutes! Do not skip the rest days - they are absolutely essential. Keep going with this brilliant programme and you wonβt go wrong. Towards the end I sometimes had two rest day but always did three jogs in a week. Beware Wk6 - itβs a challenge! Slow and steady all the way ..... πββοΈ
