W1R2 better than expected

After getting some great advice on here pos W1R1 I dragged my carcass out of bed early yesterday morning, put my earbuds in and embarked on W1R2.

To be honest, I wasn’t sure I’d made the right decision. My legs were stiff and achey and I knew how difficult the first session had been. But, armed with the knowledge that ‘slow and steady’ was the way to go I gritted my teeth and went for it.

Was I surprised! Every 60 second run completed, no stitch and still alive when I got back to the front door! I’m not saying it was easy (far from it) but it was easier.

I’m quite looking forward to getting out there tomorrow and I was surprised to find that my legs weren’t anywhere near as sore today. I’ll do a session of yoga later on to help stretch and build strength.

A quick thanks to all who responded to my initial post. Your input was invaluable in giving me motivation after that first session.

Well done! The next run should be even better.

Well done! Week one is definitely the hardest in terms of will power and getting yourself out the door. Definitely give it a days rest between runs that will help your muscles recover - I know it’s tempting to crack on and run but definitely wait. That was the best bit of advice I’ve had on here
