Legs out

As I’m just approaching the end of wk3, I’m wanting to get my legs out and try and get some colour on them while out running. Does anyone have any recommendations for any running shorts please.

I was in an Adidas outlet store today and saw some 2-in-1s which look like Lycra shorts with shorts on top. For modesty and comfort I think. I might go back and try them on. I’ve also seen girls wearing skorts on Parkrun but haven’t seen any in the shops. The stretchy shorts I wear are really old , so I will watch this thread with interest

Oh yeah I like that idea, as don’t want the whole shorts riding up as I run. I’ll have a look 👀👍🏼

These sound good. They would eliminate chaffing, which is what puts me off normal loose shorts.

Also watching with interest. Haven't gone shorter than Capri after being bitten running past fields, but by jings it's getting hot!

I got some "yoga" shorts from mountain warehouse on sale at 8 pounds. They are lycra but come to just under mid thigh about 3 inches above knee. They're great but just avoid nettles! (They are now strictly for road routes!) 🤣🤣

Just noticed only size 6 left but they do have other similar too

I have some Adidas shorts. I love the mesh briefs- much cooler and comfortable than wearing another layer of pants underneath :)

What ever you feel comfortable in I think is the best answer Sarah. Some people like tight fitting Lycra shorts. I personally prefer a looser fitting pair.

And I do both - tight Lycra instead of underpants with baggy shorts over the top. Fashion and (mostly) comfort advice from 30 year old step-son!

Hi Sarah,

I’m just starting wk 4 and had the same thought. There are tons on the market and it depends on your budget but I picked up a great pair in H&M! Cheap, super comfy and not too “short” (if you know that I mean?)

Good luck with the rest

Kalenji shorts from Decathlon are good -with or without lycra undershorts (I bought both!). A flattering fit, and very comfortable. Not expensive :)

I’ve found some on eBay, Lycar layer with a thin pair over. I’ll update when they arrive and try them out 👍🏼

I'm in cut off jeans. As they have just sprung a hole in the B.hind I'm going to have a rethink. Not at all sure about Lycra!

No, I couldn’t do denim - I definitely need stretch and wicking material to keep me cooler.

Stretchy denim and saved buying anything new. If I make it to being a real runner I might buy some running gear, but decent trainers are first on the list. Then it'll be winter so maybe a tracksuit. I really fancy an old fashioned one like I had as a kid with 3 stripes down the legs and arms.
