It gets better.

What is it that you dread? Is something hurting or is this a psychological issue?

If it's physical, try slowing down

Maybe try and change you mindset, lots of positive self talk 'I am getting out there, making good changes in my life, taking control of my health. Nothing worth having was ever easy' etc

Good luck :)

Hello Oldyruner - it does get better. I have just finished week 6 having NEVER run in my life. Best bit of advice is knowing that the first 5 mins of each run is always the hardest and once you break through it feels great. Something to do with getting rhythm and breathing right

Thank you I find once I hear the half way bell I’m more determined to get to the end! Breathing was an issue the 1st but I seem to be getting the hang of it.

I'm W2R2, so far it's a matter of motivation for me. But I get out hit the I hate this imoji face then go. I try not to get too technical or think too much about what I'm doing. As long as my running bits are faster than my walking bits I'm happy, but I have noticed I'm going farther each time so my running is getting faster, or it could be my walking.

I am growing to hate Sarah Millican but once I walk through the door at the end I hit the I really do hate this imoji and save. Roll on W2R3.

Lol I find myself getting annoyed at Michael Johnson telling him to hurry up just to get to the end. No pain no gain!

I'm going to change Sarah for a new buddy for W3, it's not really fair to blame her.

Go slowly, no rush. Sounds like you’re doing too much. Ease up and enjoy yourself. This is not a punishment 🙂

You don't have to do it, if it is causing you anguish.

Why not adopt a positive attitude, knowing that the only way to fail this programme is by heading back to the couch permanently.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and do follow the link about attitude to running.

You can do this.
