I ran 20 mins amd my calf started to hurt. I tried to keep running and stoppex when I couldn't run without limping. I just ran 100 yards to get out of the rain and some thing felt like it snapped. It really hurts. Has anyone any advice on what to do and how to not slip back on my training?

Aww hon!! Bloody "Ouch"!!
You need to get it looked at by a physio asap. Sounds like a calf tear. In the meantime get a bag of frozen peas on it, keep it elevated and assuming it's swollen get some ibuprofen inside you to get the swelling down.
Physio will get you into rehab pretty quickly, but it could take a wee while before you're fully active and running again. It's often cause by sudden changes in direction or lunges; racquet sports are where I've normally seen calves popping like that.

Sounds like you've torn a muscle. It could be a while before your able to resume running.
Rest painkillers ice and elevation.
Thanks I have it on ice now and painkillers. The fact I am also in the middle of a ten year olds party is not helping. Thanks for the advice.
