W7R1 - 25 mins is demanding

This was the toughest run yet, even tougher than the last 25 min run. It’s surprising though that the average speed and the distance I covered was almost similar to the last run. So is it the 2 day rest that I took after finishing W6 that resulted in feeling this the toughest run yet? Did anyone else had similar experience?

The best part is that after all I managed to complete the run👊🏃‍♂️

After 6 weeks of my running, my better half is getting inspired and she is planning to get on to the program 😊 so that’s another positive.

And a reminder to myself, keep hydrated and keep doing the stretches!

All the best everyone! The big milestone is visible now!

Go you... relax into these lovely longer runs..let the new legs find their happy pace... :)

Good hydration is essential all the time.. and even more so with the warmer weather:) Stretching after every run too...:)

Don't forget that stamina and core strength exercise too, should be upped as the runs get longer:)

Hi das_vikas, Yes I had similar experiences with W7. I struggled with all 3 runs, just had to slog them out and then W8 not easy but flowed. W7 was my worst and still have no idea why! You've done 25 mins twice now so no matter how hard you will do it then on the home stretch :)

I did not have a great first run of week 7! Run 2 today was much better. Keep at it 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️

Mmmm... interesting... well done for getting thro it successfully 👍🏽 I am curious to know how others spread the runs out 1 day/2day or even more rest days and if that makes it easier cos you’re giving your bod time to recover? Or harder cos you've got to get back into it?

I’m doing mine tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed!

I learned that rest days were really important and I can now go a week (if necessary) without running and still feel fitter when I set off again. I think the rest days are muscle repair and muscle building days which set you up for your next run. Very important to take rests.

Well done for completing it!

I’ve always found the first run of a new week hard. Now I’m on wk8 I take two rest days between and find it better- well when I say better I obv mean”still very hard but more ready for it” kind of better!! Not long to go now for you- good luck with your next few runs!

Yes agree on the 2 day break, I do the same between weeks. Isn’t it amazing what we have achieved so far, from dreading the first 3 min run to running non stop for 25 mins?

All the best for your future runs and looking forward to see you on the podium soon!
