Help! Lower right shin seems a tad painful, say 2/10. It doesnt seem bad enough to stop me from today's run (w6r2).

Anyone else had this? Seems common complaint with new runners.

Any advice would be much appreciated, but pleeeeeeze don't make me rest 😢

Absolutely it is common. Just be mindful you don't make it worse. General advice would be not to run on pain. If it hurts take another rest day. Better ou miss a day now through caution than miss a month through injury.

Thank you for your reply. So frustrating when you want to get out there and run, but sensible advice

Yes, as WhatsApp said.. and It's probably just that your a new runner, and your legs have to get used to the forces going through them, hopefully it will fade away with some rest, but never try and run through any bad pain, good cushioning shoes and running on grass may help take off some pressure, remember slow and steady as well..

A new runner’s niggle does not a shin splint make! 😃

Shin splint is agonising pain 10 out of 10

There. Good news 💪😃👍🏃‍♀️ Go Gillian. Slow and steady ☝️

Fab! The pain got worse as day went on, but 7 out of 10 max. Have since invested in proper running shoes, the lady in the shop, (who runs marathons btw), said pretty much same, and take a rest day or so and should be back on track in no time 😊x
