Shin splints

Happens to me too! Have read up about it. As you get fitter the pain reduces. Stretching helps too! So now I stretch both before and after good luck

Oh and well done - losing a stone is a wonderful achievement!!

Hi Charmar, although I have not suffered from this directly, I have seen a lot of posts on here about it and wanted to know more about it, so went to the NHS site and found this. nhs.uk/conditions/shin-spli...
Unfortunately it does say not to run through the pain as it will not get better and it would appear that rest of the order of the day.
There’s a lot of information on all of the running sites as well.
Take things easy and listen to your body and allow it to repair, I wish you well and let us know how you get on when you are back at it. 🙏🏻

Are you wearing running shoes or normal trainers? I used to get awful shin splints when I did aerobic classes but I’m fine running (although it’s only 5 minutes at a time so far). I’ve invested in proper running shoes after having my gait analysed and haven’t had any shin splints at all (touch wood). Might be worth a try?
