After completing C25K last Saturday, I haven't run at all this week. I have a recurrent back problem that causes pain and stops me in my tracks that started on Monday. I'm so disappointed because all through c25k I felt great - all my aches and pains disappeared and I had no trouble from my back. I really thought the running was keeping it at bay. I just have to sit it out and it will go but in the meantime I feel disappointed that my one goal was to keep running and I've failed. I'm also scared when I do get out I'll struggle. Can't believe my stupid body! Sorry to moan on, feeling quite sorry for myself.

Disappointed
Don't get too down - that fitness won't disappear straight away and there are tonnes of programmes out there for those returning to running from injury. Lots of tips out there on how to run better to minimise risk of injury. You'll look back on this as a blip rather than an end.
Not failed🤔.
Not a medic or sports physio.
Rest up and do not worry.
Sounds like posture, core strength or maybe not engaging your core when running.🤔
Do not know and you will need professional help,to reassure yourself, but while your sorting things out, look at the info on core strength and engagement of your core.Lots more besides.
Take care and do let us know how you progress.🌟👏👏
Is it your lower back? If so, you could try and focus on building up your core strength. I do understand your frustration (I am on the IC with a strained calf, and so upset I cannot run), but the only way through it is rest and focusing on how you can sort this out. I have started doing Pilates to help with my core and lower back, and am really enjoying it.
My goal was to keep up regular running, too. But every time I start to see progress in my fitness and think about a new goal (I was planning on doing Bridge to 10k), some minor injury stops me in my tracks! Let’s try to stay positive - we will run again; injuries happen, even when you are doing everything right it seems!
Keep gently mobile; think about doing some core work and take some nice walks in this lovely sunny weather to lift your spirits. It will get better.
