Since I started C25K at the end of January, I haven't had running shoes. I've never owned real running shoes. I started running in cheap walking shoes that hurt my feet. I switched to the only decent pair of shoes I owned which were hiking shoes. They helped with the foot pain as they are supportive, but they were heavy and not great on pavement. I've managed in them for 3 months but my running friends said they weren't a good choice.
I decided I was committed enough to running to invest in proper runners. I tried on EVERY shoe in the store. But I have large, wide feet, and no arches. I'm very flat footed and need a very supportive shoe. They were ALL uncomfortable.... except for these. The most expensive shoes in the store.... They didn't carry any women's shoes that would fit me so I had to buy men's shoes. But they are amazing! I was hoping to try them out tomorrow but the shop told me I should wear them around the house for a few days just to be sure. They better last a long time!
Happy running!

Congrats on the new runners! What a difference they'll make. Genuinely have no idea how you've managed so long in hiking shoes. Do you realise how dedicated that makes you. Enjoy!
Same here.. I must have tried about 15 pairs on and none were right... I ended up being fitted in a pair of men's shoes as they were wider and I absolutely love them!!!
I have this problem with my feet, I'm a 9 EEE and can't find any shoes. Men's aren't wide enough it's ridiculous the high street thinks women have dainty little feet they don't!
Feeling your pain here, did exactly the same after graduating. What a difference they make though. Also invested in shirts and a decent running tee and suddenly I’m running with a new purpose!
With all those problems I would have gone to Sweatshop and had gait analysis done and got proper shoes straight off. We did after trying to run in "walkers" and getting told off by our son. Since then no problems at all. Proper shoes for the job, not off the shelf "These will do" shoes.
