Week 7 run 2

Another beautiful morning down at the beach, slightly chilly but not warranting long sleeves. It didn't take me quite as long to drag myself out of bed this morning and after quite a sedentary day at work yesterday, I was quite looking forward to a leg stretch!

I think I set off a little bit quicker than I normally have, and did have to regulate my pace for the first couple of minutes before settling into my stride. Again the first half felt longer than the last, and I was convinced I was going slower than normal, but when the bell rang, I was almost exactly where I was the other day so it was all in my head.

I was nicely warmed up for the final five minutes and so I did up the pace a tiny amount (definitely not a sprint) and I could feel the difference but I managed it - I was a sweaty mess at the end of it though!

I have found my thoughts turning more to "what next" - maybe because I'm on the final stretch of the programme (7 runs left) - after all of this effort, the last thing I want to do is stop, so I think the aim of the game is consolidation to start with and then upping the distance, and dare I say, either a park run or another 5K event.

Next run Saturday morning, forecast looks good!

I love early morning running. Sets me up for the entire day.

It's great that you are already thinking longer term as regards the running. Your legs now need to get some miles in them and so consolidation is good. Try to keep the 3x week.

There is also the Graduates 5k+ forum as well as the Bridge to 10K but for now lets get you to W9R3.
