Realised late this afternoon that I hadn’t bothered to drink much water over the last 24 hours and wondered if it would affect my run.
5 minutes in and my calves started complaining (not pain but really tight) and it’s only through sheer willpower that I managed to make it to 30 mins. Every single step was a struggle and I felt as if I was running through treacle.
I’d had a rest day and this has never happened before so am I right in thinking it was dehydration? If so then lesson learnt!

yes. You need to drink 3 litres of water every day. Definitely the day before you do a run. If you are a man or large framed or it is hot weather, make it 4.
At a minimum.
Dehydration is the number one enemy of exercise (and normal function)
