C25k+ Speed - or something! πŸ˜‰

Yes, Oldfloss , I went for my run this evening! :D I decided to try the C25k+ Speed podcast and see how I got on with it, having had fun(!) with Stepping Stone on Sunday...

The warm-up walk was fine - although rather quicker than I’m used to, so it took me a minute or two to adjust to the pace again. And then the fun began! The first five minutes were ok - a bit quicker than my first few minutes usually are, but manageable. Then suddenly it was time for the intervals. Eek!

First one done, then down to the 150bpm recovery which always felt impossibly slow when I last used this podcast a couple of years ago. I couldn’t face the start of the second fast interval and actually slowed to a walk for a bit - but about halfway through it got a grip and started running again! Having found my mojo I then managed to settle into the pattern and kept going properly until the second to last slow jog, when I walked again for about 30 seconds.

The last interval, however, I just went for it - I can’t sustain a flat-out run for the whole 60 seconds but began and ended it quickly ;)

So not perfect, but respectable enough for a first try :)

I love the speed podcast - especially if I don't have much time but want to feel like I've made an effort. I often chuck it in just to vary my runs a bit.

Keep going with it every now and then and you'll grow to love/hate it in equal measure πŸ˜‚

The speed podcast is great - love it! Sadly on IC but looking forward to getting going again when physio gives thumbs up! Glad you enjoyed your run - well done 😊

Go you,and very well done.. it is challenging but I can promise you, when it all starts to come together, it is amazing and tucked inside longer runs it is a fantastic feeling:)

You will get there and I think you have made a great start:)
