Pain in legs when going slower

Hi does anyone else suffer with pain in ankles/calves/knee and hips when going at a slower pace? I’ve hit a bit of a problem as up until today I’ve just ran a bit faster to over come the pain. Now I’m on week 4 and I cannot maintain that lace for the whole 5 minutes, if I reduce my speed the pain is unbearable. I feel like I’m really not going to make progress if I can’t get this pain issue sorted (I’m due to run a 10K is less than 5 weeks aswell!!)

Any tips or advice appreciated, thanks

We did have trouble at first. Found firstly that we were going too fast and tiring quickly. Then when we slowed down that we had problems with calves and knees. Our son and daughter who both run suggested we get proper shoes. We did and they were not cheap, but the difference is amazing. We are on week five now and have no problems with aches and pains.

Super thank you I shall look at getting some proper trainers, I’d rather pay a little more than struggle on and cause an injury 👍
