For the first three weeks, I didn't use the soundtrack - instead I timed myself, and my Fitbit Charge recorded the track and split times on my phone, with the aid of the phone's GPS.
For week 4, I started using the soundtrack - which I think is great - but I've found that this somehow prevents the track being recorded. The time of the run, a ridiculous over-statement of my heartbeat are still recorded, but the GPS doesn't function.
Has anyone else experienced this/know a solution?

I use a Charge 2 and can’t say I’ve ever had this problem. I use the One You Couch to 5K app though, and Spotify for music. They all seem to work really well together.
Are you using the podcast? Maybe you could try the app instead?
Interesting that you’re finding the heart rate really innacurate! I’ve never thought to test it to see how reliable it is - I’ll have to do that!
Seeing my heart rate max out at 191bpm almost gave me a heart attack! On my next run, I too my pulse at the end of the first running sequence and was reassured to find it just over 130. At the end of the final running sequence it was 136. During day-to-day activity, the Charge 2 is pretty accurate.
