Have you checked the bit about diet, in this post. You do what feels right for you... but nothing heavy before running Check that your eating regime is healthy too, and is giving you what you need for the runs
Water and a coffee before, banana and water after, never fails for me.
I always have a banana about half an hour before if I go for a morning run. Plus lots of water. I tend not to eat until after if it’s an evening run.
I think it’s whatever you need though as long as you have plenty of fluid 👍
I have a banana about 10 minutes before I run. It works ok for me.
A banana about an hour before running, if it's eaten right before running then it's not absorbed and just lies in the gut, so no energy benefits.
Don't drink much right before running or a toilet visit may be needed, stop about an hour beforehand, then before the run have some toilet visits to virtually drain the bladder..
