I was 50something when I started and had never run (or done much exercise) before. Can run 30 mins without stopping now - I feel fitter, happier and a little bit proud. It can be a bit daunting at first but if you just concentrate on the run you’re on, it’ll be fine. Good luck.

Hi

I'm 54 and haven't done much exercise at all for years and have sedentary full time job so hard to find time. I started 10 days ago and surprisingly am doing OK and even quite enjoying it. Not easy but do-able. I did first run of week 2 yesterday...let me know how you get on. Good luck

Hello

I too am 50 something and quite a bit overweight. I have done week 1 ten times now and week 2 once, so at least 3 weeks

In fact I don't think they should be called weeks, I think 'in my head' it would be better if they were called stages and that there was something to show how many times you had 'run'.

When I do week 1 I take about 4000 steps when I did week 2 I only took 3500, so I know I have a long way to go. I did have ambitions to make week 9 but I think I might just be happy that I have got off that couch and done something. I'm also looking at the active 10.

I am a woman who will be 50 next year. Too heavy, too unfit - and this weekend is start of turning things around. First run today! Let us know how you get on!
