I have just completed week 2 run 3 and really not sure if I can run for 3 mins in week 3. Do I give it a go or repeat week 2 again. I am enjoying getting out in the fresh air and jogging but really worried about week 3

I was exactly the same as you I dreaded week 3 but it went better than I thought it would, I would say go to week 3 and keep doing week 3 until you are comfortable before going to week 4. In week 4-5 you start to settle into your own pace and it does get easier as you body and legs are stronger for the runs ahead just stay slow and steady as you probably won’t pick up your pace until you are able to do 5k anyway so just enjoy it😊

We are all here if you need us ok

You can only give a go - I’m sure you’ll surprise yourself. And remember, it’s pro trainers that designed this with folk like you and I in mind. Trust them and believe in yourself but never overdo it.

Thank you everyone I’m going to give it a go Sunday morning. Maybe slow my pace down so I stand a better chance of the 3 min run. Will let you know how I get on 😀

I think you might just suprise yourself, trust the programme and trust yourself. Tbh I’m always scared of the next run or next week but then enjoy it. I’ve told myself I will only repeat a run or week if I don’t actually achieve it.

If you did the all the running intervals, then guess what it is time to move on to W3. And if fo whatever reason you don’t manage a W3 run, then just repeat that one until you do! You’re ready we promise you.. Keep it slow and steady and you’ll be fine

Check this out for great advice.. and then move on. If you completed the runs..just carry on. keep it slow and steady and relaxed... you can do this.

Each run prepares you for the next..if you feel you are struggling.. slow down more:)

Pepeating runs too often, can tire you out and make it harder work than it need be. Trust the programme, have confidence in yourself and KNOW you will do it:)

Always, always give it a go! :) What's the worse that can happen, you "only" run for 2 minutes? That's 2 minutes more than you could 2 weeks ago. It's the only way you're going to progress. ;) Half of this running lark is beating the mental aspect of it. You completed Week 2, so don't let your head psych you out of Week 3 before you've tried it.

If it ends up a practice run, well that's fine too, but keeping it slow and steady, I'm sure you'll manage it. You might surprise yourself, I thought it would be hell on earth too, but discovered my body was actually a LOT happier keeping going than doing the stop starting for 60/90 seconds. Good luck! :)

Thank you I am going to give it a go Sunday. I think you are right it’s being in the right headspace rather than looking to fail I should be looking to succeed

The programme is fantastic and it teaches you more than just how to run, it teaches you to believe in yourself too.

So much of this acheivement is in the mind. We have no use for self doubt. Our bodies CAN do this, we just have to believe that.

Self doubt, trepidation, fears, all of those are just little annoying gremlins that need to be put in their place 👍😁
