Some of you know who I am and I know some of you beyond the Forum names/avatars. I like my relative anonymity here and on other Forums for lots of reasons and probably most of you do also.
Having said that, it struck me that possibly some of you don't realise that if you post a photo of yourself - even if it is not a 'real' photo - and that photo is posted somewhere else on the internet, 'google search' could let someone access your information on that other forum/Page/site whatever.
I changed my pic yesterday and did the usual cross check - had to laugh because this was the result from google image search -
' Best guess for this image: human '
which is rather a relief LOL. In other words, the one other place I posted this is secure enough not to be harvested by google image search
However a few times on other sites etc, photos I have posted were traceable to the other - completely unassociated otherwise - sites. For instance - you might post a photo here and also on your FB page. You might not want people on FB place to know the information here, or vice versa but google image search could lead them to it.
Just thought I would throw this out here, the world is getting smaller and sometimes there are people in it one would prefer not to have any information that we would not wish them to have.
