New bloke on the block !!
Welcome.
Reading the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... are my top fifty tips.
Enjoy your journey.
The guide is all you need, read it and re-read it!!!!!
You’ll be fine - have faith in the program and keep using the forum to read other people’s stories and get advice and encouragement as you go.
Good luck!!!
If you get running shorts go commando 😉
😱🤣
I made the mistake once of leaving my boxers on. And it was the worst run by far 😂
I’ll have to take your word for that! 🤣
👍😂
Catbee Its true...unless you wear a good pair of seamless or really decent baselayer below. Running shorts with the liner are best as they ventilate the privates and keep them together
You can do it! 💪🏻🤗
Just believe in the programme, it really works. I had never run in my life (not even at school when I had a doctor's note to get me out of cross country as my legs were so spindly and I had chronic cramp. At the ripe old age of 52, as part of my recovery from breast cancer, and loosing my hearing and balance I was encouraged to start running and used the C25K podcasts. I had no idea that I would actually be able to run, and certainly would not have believed I would now be running 10k plus sometimes. So if I can do it I'm sure you can too.
Good luck, and don't forget to post in here often as I'm sure the advice and encouragement is what has got a lot of us through the programme to graduation.
The most important things to remember is that C25K is about building up your stamina, not about speed. Speed can come later if you want it to. So slow and steady does it. Also good running shoes are important. Go to a sports store and have your gait analysed and they will recommend the correct foot wear for you. If you think the price at the store is expensive you can always jot down the name of the recommended shoe and then come home and purchase them online.
Rest days are very important, take extra when you need to. Tie your laces in a double bow. Take a hankie. Plan when, where you will run. Find something good to listen to. Find your pace, slow is better than not at all. 😇🏃♂️🙌
