Starting again after a shorrt break

After a 2 week break (holiday snow cold blah blah) I set off again and...the first hill it felt like someone was inflating a lead beach ball in my chest. I had to bail out half way round.

Today. Decided to incorporate the first hill into my warm up walk. Bit better but still couldn't make it past 3k.

What should I do? Just plough on? Drop back into the programme somewhere?

You shouldn't have lost too much fitness in two weeks so maybe just try to find your baseline and work from there. Forget about distance and focus on time to start with. You haven't been injured so try a slow 20 minutes. If that feels ok then next time try 25 and build up from there. And maybe avoid the hills for the first week or so 🙂

As her Majesty says..just head out and run.. slow and steady and let the legs and your body tell you what is what :)

Relax and enjoy getting back on track...:)

Yes, I went out today and the phone was dead so I decided to run without music or the fitbit prompts. I found it took a lot of pressure off me, the legs found their own pace and I was able to do 5k without any problems at all. What was really surprising was the time...back up there but without feeling I'd pushed myself at all.

Thanks guys.
