After an injury I’m really struggling to get back into it! I’m not going as much exercise now and when I go to do some I put it off 😫

Hi there, you don't say what sort of injury. Have you been cleared by your gp to run again.

If so it's more of a mental block you need to get over. Commit to yourself. Imagine your best friend asked you to please do this with or for them... I bet you wouldn't let excuses get in the way as easily then πŸ‘

You can do this 😁

Plantar fasciitis. But because running caused it initially (I had very old unsupportive running shoes πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ) it is definitely a mental barrier!

I’d have a leisurely jog in the direction of Lidl. It’s run sale day πŸ˜³πŸ˜³πŸ˜³πŸ‘πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

It doesn’t have to be a big deal. A gentle plod around the park just to see how it goes. Or you could do session one of C25k.

You won’t know unless you try πŸ’ͺπŸ™‚πŸ‘

Mental blocks can be harder to get over but you have to decide what's important to you. If you want to get fit, you won't by not trying.

Find reasons personal to you to want it enough to get out there and just do it! πŸ‘

Do not stress.😴Sorry for your injury.πŸ™ˆ

If you are looking for motivation and inspiritation,πŸ€”

Seems to be so many RIP’s,just recently ,runner, scientist , comedian , and inspiring life stories, take their gems if they meet your needs.

Or just run with childhood freedom and do it for you and your health and your happiness.

Or do it for your family and your bloodline.

If you are chilling and it takes your fancy,

I recommend google,

The Real Chariots of Fire, 🌟 by Nigel Havers. 25 minsπŸ€”

You know of the film,πŸ€” but the true facts are truly, even more humbling and inspiritational.Story of Eric Liddell🌟 and Harold Abrahams🌟Liddell’s seperate story is there also.

Both contributed ,belief, hardwork and probably saved the modern day Olympic ideal.🌟

Gosh, you can even observe their running form on old footage, 1924.

Truly inspiring and amazing and what drove themπŸ€”πŸŒŸπŸ‘πŸ‘

Hi Xxjipxx, you have reminded me of a walk I did in the Lake District many years ago - my first significant exercise after a prolonged & very painful bout of PF. I was quite nervous about retriggering the injury.. so I made sure that I had good footwear, planned a short but interesting route and went gently. It was fine- after that my confidence and mojo steadily grew. You could start with a 30 mins walk, or a W1 session in the right footwear, just to try out that you are okay and feel reassured. Good luck! πŸ˜€

Hi Xxjipxx, some good advice already, why not use this forum to motivate yourself...

Put your kit on and write a post ,'just going for my Wk? R?' then go out the door. While you run think about what you will tell us about it, how you felt, what you saw...and write a 'I did it' post afterwards! We never get tired of hearing how everyone is doing, we all motivate and encourage each other.

Good luck with your run...will be looking for your posts😊xx

Thank you all for your advice! Starting small is the way forward I think! Because I’m not at the level I used to be I get disheartened very easily recently, which is affecting my motivation
