Non watch style activity trackers

I want to get an activity tracker but can't wear a watch. Since I was a kid mechanical watches just stop when I am wearing them and digital ones just go blank, never to work again. Any ideas as I'm reluctant to spend loads on a fitbit or similarband find I have the same problem?

I tend to just go by reviews on amazon.

How bizarre! What sort of phone do you have? That normally have in built apps (e.g. Samsung Health) that you can use or there are lots of free apps you can download.

You had to wind-up mechanical watches back in the day and now you have to change or recharge the batteries on modern ones! Who knew? I learned the hard way...Only kidding!

Assuming you don't fry mobile phones too, you could use an app on your phone (they use gps for distance, accelerometer for step count etc).

Don't get an Apple watch though. ;-)

You can buy this sort of thing, so the device is not on your skin.

Garmin vivofit 1/2 Generation Activity Tracker Replacement Clip Holder,iFeeker Soft Silicone Rubber Case Metal Steel Sheet Clasp Belt Clip Holder Case Cover for Garmin vivofit 1/2 Generation Fitness Tracker Smart Watchband Accessory (Black)

This is a known phenomenon, although watch makers rarely cite it as a reason for watches etc, not working. I used do find mechanical watches either gained or lost on my wrist...weirdly, according to stress levels..o holiday once, mine actually ran backwards... true!

Take a look on Amazon :)

My selfwinding watch used to stop all the time until I took up running. Freaky. My reliable Garmin also gained 2 hours last week when I flew to Rome! I'm cursed I tell you! ;-)

A smart phone with a tracking app such as Runkeeper or Endomondo might work.

Have you tried green kryptonite?

A cheap and cheerful one to try is mi band 2 ... only £10 on ebay.

I use my phone mostly to track and record.

Oh there's one called Leaf that you can wear as a pendant. Not sure how pricey it is though. 😊

Not what you're looking for?
