Treadmill cheater

After weekend nights I knew that I wouldn’t feel like getting home from work tonight at 715 and slipping into my trainers for a road run. So I went on the treadmill at work and I felt it was easier than the road, I completed w5d1 and felt great. Really good, almost too easy..... so feel that the treadmill has cheated me a wee bit?!?!?

Not cheating at all a very sensible way of staying on track. I’m not a treadmill expert but as i understand it if you have to use them regularly add in gradients, as this more reflects outdoor running. Well done. You found a way to stay on track.

So far I’ve done 7 runs and out of those, only one has been outside. I don’t feel particularly comfortable running outside just yet. I felt like the run was much easier outside. Some runs on the treadmill are hard and some aren’t. A run is a run I say!! Well done on completing week 5 day 1.

Just different... and sometimes necessary :) Well done you :)

I run 7K in 23 minutes inside...( torrential rain outdoors) nowhere near that outside...but, it is still a run:)

That is only Level 2 resistance and I have been running for two and half years. I use my cross trainer if it is icy outside.. and I use it after any injury.i.e. when I broke my ribs:)

I went on the other day as the rain was so heavy and it was freezing cold, and having just had five weeks on the IC with a trapped sciatic nerve... I was being bit wimpy :)

I find it useful, as for me, it really improves my leg strength, I am always surprised at how much distance I cover.. I even photographed the stats!!! On the down side, I only used up 81 calories.... It is all good fun.... :)

I very nearly added a similar post yesterday. I’d come off a night shift, managed a measly 2 and a half hours sleep and the weather was once again abysmal. Itching for a run but couldn’t face the weather I went to my other half’s parents house and used their treadmill. It’s the first session I’ve done on a treadmill and while I finished feeling unsteady, not tired enough and a bit of a cheat I’m glad I got my 28 minutes in. Sometimes needs must!

Well done on your progress 🏃‍♂️
