That's great, which trainer have you chosen? I have Sarah Millican, she makes me laugh.

You'll get real results with this programme 👍 enjoy😁

I have Jo Whiley She has a calming voice. Knowing me I'll probably swoop between them all. Lol

Great start, enjoy your rest day and happy running

Well done Martin...don't worry about feeling puffed out, your breathing will settle as you get further into the program. Take the runs nice and steady and run slowly ( no sprinting), then recover a bit during the walk intervals.

Some stretching afterwards and drink plenty of water on rest days as well as run days.

Have you seen the guide to the program...

And we have another winner.

The first run is the one to get under your belt. It's not exactly all downhill from here but after you make that first step you are no longer on your own.

Martin you have to have a day off between runs.....that is the way it works, simply because when you run you create micro tears in your muscles which repair and strengthen on your rest day, not while running. Doing some other non impact cross training on your non run day will make you a better runner than running every day, which will likely result in injury, if you are unfit and new to running.

Taken that onboard today was my first rest day and second run tomorrow

Welcome and well done.

The guide linked to above is essential reading and take on board the slow and steady message. It really is the best and safest way to learn to run.

Your targets may be okay but believe me there is more to learning to run than putting one foot in front of the other, so concentrate on building your stamina with nice slow runs during C25k (which is the way pros train) and then you can work on pace after graduation, when your resistance to injury will have developed to a degree.

Enjoy the journey.
